Maybe I'm over-thinking but it all seems so trivial
Temporary things causing serious pain...
We stress over the littlest things
We take the action of others to heart
We're emotional beings and we act it
Easier to lash out then play smart...
Why do we consume energy
Why do we designate our time
To the negativity that envelopes us
We do it to ourselves, that's the true crime...
Life is simple
We live then we die
That's inevitable, but it's about what we do while we're alive
But putting it so bluntly makes people cry...
We're always searching for answers
But few of us value the truth and what's real
We want everything instantly
From retirement down to an everyday meal...
Everyone has an opinion
But rarely do they practice what they've preached
We could all live content
If only the layer of superficial, materialism could be breached...
